(related to the Kangaroo & Opossum) resembles a large rat or a small bear. The Tasmanian Devil is a natural
scavenger, feeding on carrion, small livestock and the poisonous Black Tiger
Snake. Though equipped with bone crushing molars and a muscular physique,
their reputed vicious temper, as popularized by Warner Bros. cartoons is

forest. Noted for the remarkable gape of its jaw, this relative of the
kangaroo and Opossum resembled a small wolf. Measuring up to 50" long with
a 25" tail, this marsupial had a crescent-shaped pouch which held a litter
